College

I had a pair of these Doc Martins in college...and am secretly wondering what the hell happened to them for the first time in, um, five years or so....guess I'll be sticking with normal shoes instead.
The Serger
So...a recent update: I'm a student again! But I swear it's different this time! I'm currently enrolled in one serger class, and will be signing onto two more technical sewing/pattern drafting classes for summer and then....drumroll....TEXTILES IN THE FALL!!! I just peed my pants. I'm so excited. How am I going to wait until September?
Before this, I am going to have to survive my serger/overlock class, which is great except for the 3/8 good machines to cursed, bitter ones ratio and the spacey teacher and the 1-hour bus ride to/from Denver and...ugh, stop complaining. But seriously, it's an annoying class. Only six more weeks...oh shit....

I do love Colorado. I love the weather and the dryness. I especially love the summer. We've been talking a bit about leaving in the fall to go abroad again (where?), which I obviously have some mixed feelings about. Yes, I'm sick of living in this country, especially since I am one of the many that was laid off recently and have rediscovered that whole freedom feeling (please note that I do not mean that in the freedom-fries sense), but damn, I love Colorado. Taiwan was fantastic, but there was the whole pollution thing, and CRAPPY apartment, and either being freezing and wet and not seeing the sun for three months or being too hot and sweaty and awkward because you're obviously not bred for that climate. And you know what? It really sucks to get settled, much less get settled in a foreign country. Everything from getting a cellphone to doing the laundry is an ordeal, and, and I'm sorry, but you know, it wears on you.
But then there's the good. The new places, the food, the locals (most of the time)—It's hard to articulate, unlike the bad. But there was a lot of good.
Anyway, for now I really, really love Colorado.

Okay, so we're back in Colorado, and after much neglect I might try to get back into the online diary thing. Mostly so my dad can spy on me. Hi dad!
My latest news is that of my 25th birthday. Jacob, Jason and I climbed Long's Peak, which was lovely, but long. We began at 1am, and ended at 11am...slept the whole next day.
Really, it's a stunning place, and I would recommend it.
I'm going to try and post some photos of the past four months over the next few days, but more than likely I will slack on it.

To Daytrip
One of my favorite things is the daytrip...especially in Taiwan where pretty much every sight can be seen in a day. Waking up early, getting on a train, seeing, coming back. It's lovely. We went to Kenting on Saturday around noon, got in around 5pm, rented a scooter, made some rounds, went to the nightmarket (all the Hawaii shorts and squid on a stick you could ever want in life), slept, spent the day at the beach, ate coconut and mango, came home.
So easy it is to daytrip.
However, slightly uneconomical. Whatever.
