Fun Muzha

We took the gondola ride yesterday....Katrina, Jacob and I. What a time. I am getting pretty used to talking nonsense with Tawanese people. My favorite conversation went like this:

Old Taiwanese Man (OTM): You are all very attractive. Good looking lot.
Me: Oh, no, but thanks.
OTM: No really, seriously attractive. Your friend especially. Is she single.
Me: Yes, why?
OTM: She is also tall. I have a grandson. He needs a girlfriend. He's also pretty tall. What would you say she is, like 180cm or something?
Me: Um..
OTM:Yeah, about that. My grandson is about 186. They'd be perfect for each other. How about this weekend?

And so on and so forth.

Bull Riding, err...

I completely forgot to ever post this. This and some other things. Oops, my bad. But here it is! Pictures of branding weekend up in South Dakota with my cousins. I went with Emily and Ruben, and of course we all proved the "city kid" stereotype...but hell...it was a fun time.

We got in around 4pm, and decided to drink a couple of beers outside this abandoned school house, which we eventually broke into, which my aunt caught us doing as she was driving in from town. Big laughs, even though my aunt thought we were crazy. The next day we were up at dawn for breakfast, rounding up cattle at seven, and branding at nine. The whole branding process is pretty interesting. The calfs are first lassoed by people on horseback, then drug out of the holding pen. Awaiting the calfs are two wrestlers (bad-a country folk), who wrestle the cow and hold it down while it is branded/castrated. This whole process takes about a minute total, so it goes really fast. We were sort of wimps about wrestling the calfs for branding, especially Ruben, us being vegetarians (or at least semi-vegetarian) and all. But it was still a fun morning. The ranchers all get pretty riled up for that stuff.

Here is my cousin Alana roping cattle...most of the guys on the ranch can't do this.

Make big out of small...seriously....do it

So one thing I forgot to mention about Denmark is this wonderful place my dad and I visited in Copenhagen. It was a small print and publishing shop that sold zines, little art books, and prints. This sort of place is something we've all seen before, but this one was special because it was not only the coolest looking small space I've been to in a very long time, but they actually let you make and frame your own prints from master templates...so cool!
Also, here is one of the stations where you print...or at least part of it (I guess you can't really see the table below it....oh well, at least we know it's cool to look at!)

Crunch TIME

Rene, our dear deceased, we DO miss you.
